Empowering Creative Futures

Bridging Ghana's rich heritage with its creative future, Tikuw fosters spaces where tradition meets innovation, artists find community, and creativity drives cultural and economic empowerment.

About Us

The TIKUW Story

In the heart of Ghana's creative landscape, TIKUW emerged from a vision of connection. Founded by Poetra Asantewa, whose 15-year journey across literature, music, visual arts, and cultural preservation revealed a profound truth: artistic disciplines don't just intersect – they flow into each other, creating new possibilities for cultural expression and economic empowerment

A Vision Born from Practice

What begins as a poem can evolve into a song, transform into a visual piece, take shape as a typeface, or unfold into a play—creating spaces where art and community converge. This natural flow between artistic disciplines isn't just theoretical – it's a lived experience that shaped TIKUW’s foundational philosophy.

From Artist to Ecosystem Builder

The journey from individual artistic practice to building TIKUW reflects a deeper understanding of what artists need to thrive:

  • Spaces that nurture creativity
  • Communities that support growth
  • Platforms that amplify voices
  • Systems that ensure sustainability
